About Us

Forged in the fires of mythology, Ankhiale (ANG-key-ell) was the Ancient Greek Titan goddess representing the warming heat of the fire. As the sister to ultimate-provider-of-flame, Prometheus, wife of the Titan god of hands, Hekateros, and mother of metalsmith expert Daktyloi, her connection to these deities represented the power of the human hand to create, shape and utilize fire. Not only for heating the home and cooking food, but to also build tools to enhance the human experience.

Our mission parallels that ancient belief in Ankhiale and her titan family. Our company founders are all outdoor enthusiasts and determined to enhance your outdoor experience with new concepts and designs, built to solve industry accepted problems and spawn real world innovations. 

We chose Ankhiale Outdoors as our company name because our flagship product, the Zeta 1 Hot Tent, is designed to take the warmth of the fire and give it to you for the absolute best (and first!) in outdoor winter comfort. Its innovative design utilizes space-age material to warm the inside of the tent, allowing winter warriors to shelter in comfort.

Located at the convergence of the Columbia River and the Cascade Mountains, between the prominent volcanic peaks of Wy'east (Mt. Hood) and Pahto (Mt. Adams), Ankhiale Outdoors calls “The Gorge” its home. Our vision is to provide customers with an enhanced outdoor experience through our innovative products and apparel, while simultaneously supporting our local communities with jobs and outreach programs. We believe in lifting up and investing in our neighbors in place of turning in record profits.
